Qaleen
(kah-LEEN) is Urdu for carpet, rooted in Persian.

A rug is made over months, knot by knot, by hands we’ll never meet. Then it’s lived on, walked across and gathered around, until the colors soften and the pile wears to the shape of a home.

I grew up among rugs in a Pakistani family that has lived alongside them for more than thirty years, and learned early that each one is held in trust: kept for a while, then passed on.

Brooklyn Qaleen is my way of sharing that with our community here. Every piece carries a history, and we hope it finds a home that adds to it.

Another thread in the same weave.
